It’s been 3 months since oneTRANSPORTTM Data Marketplace began operating as a commercial service, open to any organisation seeking to share or access data about the real-time operation of UK towns and regions. There is a growing ecosystem of organisations making various real-time datasets available via the OGLv3 open data licence and an exciting list of new projects that we will be announcing shortly. These projects will be demonstrating what can be unlocked through data sharing between public and private organisations involved in Intelligent Mobility, Smart City, Connected and Autonomous Vehicle, Venue and Place-based services.
During this time, we have also been hard at work updating the oneTRANSPORT Data Marketplace Service Portal (https://service.onetransport.io/). This week, we have launched a set of new features that help data publishers and data consumers get more value from oneTRANSPORT Data Marketplace. These important updates are summarised below.
SHARE FILES ALONG SIDE REAL-TIME DATA
Files can now be uploaded (published) or downloaded (consumed) alongside real-time data on the “Dataset details” page. Files are shared via the same license terms as the real-time data.
Share static information that complements real-time data or share new file-based data.
MAKE DATA EASIER TO DISCOVER AND UNDERSTAND
You can now easily modify the information that describes your data on the “Dataset details” page. Quickly edit metadata information, tags and (optionally) pricing information.
Timestamps are now shown on the “Dataset details” page indicating most recent data update.
Make your data more discoverable and understand how recent a particular data item is.
CREATE AND PUBLISH NEW DATA SETS MORE EASILY
Easily create new data sets, add relevant metadata details (so others can discover and understand the data) and publish them to the catalog.
Quickly toggle your data sets between “Published” (visible in the data catalog and accessible by other organisations) vs “Private” (only visible to people within your organisation).
Consolidate your data and easily switch between what is shared and what remains private.
TRACK WHO IS ACCESSING YOUR DATA
Organisation Administrators can go to the “Reports“ section to download reports on usage of their data sets by 3rd parties.
Get valuable analytics on who is using your data and how.
CONSUMER OTHERS’ DATA MORE EASILY
Developers can create unique tokens for data consumption via “Create app” in “Credentials”.
Separate your apps for improved security and data consumption reporting.
ADJUST ACCOUNT INFO FOR USERS AND ADMINISTRATORS
Update your personal information such as your password and optional consents via “My Account” page.
Organisation Administrators can exercise additional controls including deleting users, viewing user properties or re-assigning administrator roles.
Use account management features to optimize access from your organisation.
